Tips on managing your Wellbeing

Managing your personal wellbeing is important to maintaining a happy and healthy life.

Your wellbeing is basically your mental state and how you are feeling in yourself and your day to day life and activities. By having a good mental wellbeing you are able to easily cope with the stresses of life, work productively, have positive self-esteem, maintain good relationships and feel engaged with the world around you.

It is hard to look after your wellbeing if you have a busy schedule however implementing a few changes into your daily life will help you to relieve any stress, feel grounded and at ease.


Meditation

Meditation is key to reducing stress, controlling anxiety, improving sleep and focus and becoming more mindful during your day to day life. Meditation is like exercise for the brain and has amazing health benefits. Don’t worry, you don’t have to meditate for hours every day. Just schedule in 10 minutes every day to meditate and have time to yourself - any thoughts that you have are natural and will come and go. If you struggle to find stillness in your mind, download an app such as Headspace or Insight Timer and listen to a guided meditation to help you in your meditation journey.

Yoga

Yoga is a great form of exercise and helps to increase your flexibility, improve your muscle strength, tone your body as well improving circulation and respiration. As well as moving and checking in with your body, yoga helps to calm and keep the mind at ease. Regular yoga practice can reduce anxiety and stress whilst increasing awareness and concentration. You don’t have to be a Yoga Master to see the benefits of practicing yoga and what it can do to your mind and body, there are many beginners classes that you can take and you can always go at your own pace.

Regular massages are a great way to keep your stress levels low, keep your mind relaxed and boost mental health and wellness.
