Building a brand by Elizabeth Olawuyi

Here at AMB we are joined by Elizabeth Olawuyi who is a professional Makeup Artist across London and the founder of her own lash brand TÉMMÈ LASHUP. Here Elizabeth gives an insight into building your own brand as a professional in the industry.

“KNOWING WHY YOU WANT TO BUILD A BRAND IS THE FIRST OF MANY STEPS THAT YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT”

Being a self taught Makeup Artist, I initially felt overwhelmed with the number of other talented Makeup Artists in the market. Once I plucked up the courage to take bookings and participate in test shoots I started to notice that everyone has something they can bring to the table (however big or small).

After a few years of not doing consistent makeup work, I reintroduced myself to the industry by launching a lash line in 2019 with my new and improved mink lashes - TÉMMÈ LASHUP. Having a lash line alongside being a freelance MUA has really given me a feeling of being valued. Though my following is small, I have a great number of returning customers.

“YOUR FOLLOWING ON SOCIAL MEDIA DOES NOT FULLY REFLECT YOUR SUCCESS, SO KEEP PUSHING”

Being an upcoming Makeup Artist, I love seeing other Makeup Artists and how innovative they are. The number one thing I always try and remember is that every interaction matters. Building a brand doesn’t mean just selling a product. Building a brand is a self journey. Know why you want to build a brand and make it your own by setting your own rules.
